Bring about 3 weeks worth of clothes. If you do laundry every other week, you'll have an extra week of clothes as a buffer.

You don't need to bring clothes for all 4 season when you move in. I assume you will go home at some point during the school year (especially winter break). Bring clothes that can be layered.

My advice is to go through your closet and pick out what you love. Put it on your bed or something, then walk away, come back, and try to put back...oh, a fourth of it. If you don't do sweats, only bring one pair--you can wash them. Layering will be your best friend. You'll probably be going home for Thanksgiving (?) so you don't need heavy sweaters--bring one or two just in case, and definitely bring a sweatshirt for lounging (although you could always get one at your college bookstore.) Bring a pair of straight-legged jeans, if you have them--they're great for rainy days when you don't want the bottom of your jeans to get wet (I hate that!) You'll be going to parties, so bring some going-out shirts, and bring one fancier dress (not long--cocktail type of dress) and a pair or two of heels. And RAINBOOTS. And a rain coat (or a couple!) Bring a couple pashminas and/or light scarves--they're great for days when it's chilly but not that cold, and good to throw over a jacket at night. Blazers are always good bets. Do not bring your whole wardrobe if you're going home for Thanksgiving or the holidays--you can bring summer clothes back home and then bring winter clothes back to school with you when you go back. Worst case scenario: you bring too little and your parents have to send you clothes, or you bring too much and you store it under your bed or send it home.

Do not waste your college years studying "Game Design". You will severely pigeon-hole yourself. Game design/programming is rapidly going offshore where (American) design companies can easily find very good programmers for $3/hr.

What you really should do is get a good flexible degree in Software Engineering Technology or Computer Engineering Technology.

You will need Math, and Science and AutoCADD, also there is an Auto-desk software called Auto-desk Inventor where you can make things in 3D. I suggest when you go to college that is if you want to go to college taking Parametric Solid Modeling classes, because those classes are all about Auto-desk Inventor. The software is fairly easy to pick up I have a degree in General Engineering Technology: Computer Aided Drafting and work for Microsoft as a Product Designer. Keep your head up and don't let anybody tell you, that you can't do it.

Advantages would be to protect you from the sun's rays, for temperature purposes, for protective reasons like falling on the floor and hitting yourself or from insects like mosquitoes, expresses your personality and styles maybe even your culture and where you come from.

Disadvantages: maintenance like washing, drying and ironing; uses up material to make and water to wash
